Bomb squad called after grenade found inside Uniontown home
UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Police and the Allegheny County Bomb Squad were called to a home in Uniontown after investigators said a grenade was found Monday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers said the owner was cleaning out the house of a deceased relative and found the grenade in the home on Nutt Avenue. The area was blocked off while the bomb squad worked to remove the grenade.
Pete Beckish lives on Nutt Avenue and said the incident isn’t anything new.
“It doesn’t surprise me,” Beckish said. “We’ve had more things than that happen on this street, so it doesn’t surprise me.”
